Hobby Project
Keyboard Speakers
I could not find nice keyboard speakers at a reasonable price. Most PA speakers
sounds very bad playing keyboard. Finally I decided to build my own speakers.
Gollmer Audio in Lidköping assisted with computer calculations and selection of the speakers.
I play keyboard using a nice Hammond B3 simulation program from Native Instruments called B4. The computer is
connected to a Casio Midi Keyboard. The speakers are driven by a tube amplifier with two EL34.
The midrange speaker consists of two Spanish Beyma 8'' elements. The bass speaker is a 15'' Eminence element .
I decided to build closed cabinettes because of the nice sound for keyoards in a relatively small box.
The speakers creates impressive sound levels and extremely nice sound at a very reasonabel price.
